I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was hooked from beginning to end.
In my mind, Sara reminded me of Taylor Swift...blonde country mega star, who’s 5’10”, wears red lipstick, and has had tons of boyfriends. ;) I, also, liked that even though Sara was a big star, she was still sweet and fun and down to earth.
I really liked all the characters but I especially loved Cal and Stella...they added the swoon and sweet factors to the story. ;)
Also, it was fun that it took place in Cody, Wyoming. My son’s name is Cody and he has wanted to visit there...now, after reading this book, I feel like making a trip and seeing Yellowstone. :)
Anyway, this book was everything I hoped it would be and I’m pretty sure I’m going to miss all the characters.

Silver Star edition by Lisa Swinton Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I'm going to offer you a warning now...don't start this book unless you're totally ok with not wanting to do anything until you have read EVERY LAST PAGE. And when I say nothing, I mean nothing! This book was soooooooo hard to set down. Let me just tell you that I worked my little tail end off to get everything done so that I could pick it up and read it! After my kiddos were in bed you better believe that I was snuggled up and reading. My hubby was on a fishing trip with one of our kiddos and my others wanted to have a movie night. I was really, really good about not reading while we were having a movie night together. So I may have read late into the night so I could figure out what was happening and just bask in the pure enjoyment I had while reading this book. Unfortunately, I was a little tired after several long days that I didn't stay up and read too late. But my daughters spoiled me the next morning and let me stay in bed reading. They actually told me to go back to bed. Lol! No, it wasn't mother's day, it was the day before. So I did! I snuggled back up in bed with this book and read, and read, and read....until my girls came and told me that breakfast was ready. (Yes, I was spoiled and had breakfast made for me two days in a row---awwww, I just love my family)!

Sara is not the same person she was when she started out on this journey of music. She has experienced heartache and loss that have changed her. She has shut out who she really is and allowed the hurt to burrow into her heart and soul. Rusty, her manager, notices and sends her packing to Wyoming for some much needed soul searching and healing. Little does she know that Rusty might have some other reasons for sending her away.

I absolutely loved Sara's story of healing. I loved watching her go from unfeeling to caring and loving, to just enjoying the world around her. This book was not exactly what I thought it was going to be. It was so much more. I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with how the story went.

Sara has gone back to her roots of horses, ranches and cowboys. She is surrounded by many who grow to love her and who help her on her journey of healing, forgiveness, peace and love. And there might just be some sparks flying and some sweet giggles abounding too. The ranch she is sent to has such great people who live and work there. I loved getting to know them, and will say that I really hope that a couple more of them will get their own stories as well. I would love to read those stories and see familiar characters crossing over into those books.

I loved the author's way of writing and storytelling throughout this book. It was longer than I expected, but I think I've been reading many novellas lately that that is why I felt that way. I actually wanted it to be longer. I just loved these characters that I didn't want to say goodbye! I would definitely give this more stars if I could. And that ending! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!!!

If you pick up any new books to read in the next little while can I just give my opinion by suggesting you try this one?????? A little nudge from me encouraging you to try it. If you enjoy country music, ranches, horses, cowboys, little girls, healing, love, friendship, a little suspense, forgiveness, you'll enjoy this fabulous read.

Content Clean. There is a scene where a character is attacked and almost raped but it is stopped. Not overly graphic but definitely would recommend this book for more mature readers. There is no sexual content, just a couple sweet kisses.

Happy Reading!!!
Oh. My. Goodness. One of my Goodreads friends put a warning in her review that the reader wouldn't want to do anything but read once they started this book, and of course she was right. If I could have, I would've started reading in the morning and read the entire day until the book was finished. Since I couldn't do that I had my read it to me while I cooked, drove and even cleaned the classrooms at our chapel!!

Sara Silver is a country superstar but she's a shell of the girl who started out in the music business 10 years ago. Her record producer, Rusty, tells her her work isn't as good as it could be, and she needs to take a break to find herself. He arranges for her to go to a cattle ranch in Wyoming owned by a friend of his. She's to stay there as long as it takes!! Once she gets to the ranch we find that Sara's not the only one in need of healing.

The first thing I liked about this story was Sara's record producer, Rusty, was honest with her--telling her that the quality of her songs wasn't what it used to be or could be again. He genuinely cared about her and whether her label would drop her. He had an answer for all her concerns about her staff, etc. I also loved how he handled Marissa when Sara came back to Nashville and started changing her lifestyle, etc. Rusty to Marissa "Sara's finally come out of her sleepwalk and you're acting like a bratty child instead of celebrating her recovery." Internally I cheered, everyone needs someone like Rusty in their corner.

To me, Sara's journey to get back to the spunky girl she used to be started as soon as she left for the ranch, and I think the smells of the ranch reminded her of her family's farm helped her journey get off to a good start. I loved her relationship with Stella, who I think helped Sara heal faster, and helped Cal heal too. The power of an adorable 4 year old. I love who Sara is when she returns to Nashville months later.

While in Wyoming Sara realized "She couldn't keep leaning on people, using them to prop herself up. She needed to figure out how to stand on her own two feet." And once she figured it out, there was no stopping her. The woman who returned to Nashville was no longer the girl who "constantly toed the line, followed a marked way laid out for her by others, and never left the path."

My mother died from cancer 20 days after my 18th birthday, so I could relate to how Sara handled her mom's death. There's so much advice and so many stories I never got to hear from my mom as I got married, gave birth, divorced and married again, so I understood all the feelings that Sara had been keeping pushed down. If you're a crier you might want some tissues for the part of the story when she returns to her family's farm after being away for years.

The author is fairly new to me as I've only read one of her books before this one, but I loved the way she wrote this one. I was drawn in right from the beginning and cared about these characters and what happened to them. I loved all the characters--Cap, Cal, Peg, little Stella, Sara's dad and brothers, and even Marissa. I'm so glad that several other characters also got their happy ending.
Romance isn't my usual read, but country music and horses are right up my alley! This book sucked me in kept me interested. The story read like a Hallmark movie. Complete with the need for tissues.
Another hit by Lisa Swinton. Such a fun read with depth and a wonderfully developed story. This is one I’ll read over and over.
Sara really found herself when she went back to her roots. She had gotten lost in the world of super stardom. Meeting the Cal & Stella brought healing to her hurting heart!
Romance, clean;
This was a lovely read! Light romance with two honest hearts. The fame setting with Sara's music career and her need to find peace to compose, find herself again, and get away from the programmed and forced production she has found herself stuck in in the past made for a lovely read. Great attraction.
Cal and his family, the ranch setting, hiding her identity, but finding herself made for a lovely read. Honest, hurting hearts; genuine characters that wanted 'real' with the ranch setting, was a perfect read.

Also, it was fun that it took place in Cody, Wyoming. My son’s name is Cody and he has wanted to visit there...now, after reading this book, I feel like making a trip and seeing Yellowstone. )
Anyway, this book was everything I hoped it would be and I’m pretty sure I’m going to miss all the characters.
